Eutsi!

Keep it up!

Eutsi! tells the story of Kepa and Martin, who are great cycling lovers and friends since they were children. Now they are over their 30s and overcome a difficult situation as they have been unemployed for about two years. One day they will decide to carry out a protest act in the Tour de France. In their way they will find support from a young journalist called Zuriņe, whose presence will cause all sorts of opposing feelings.

Asier Hormaza, Oihana Martikorena, Anjel Alkain and Nagore Aranburu play the main roles and the "bertsolari" Unai Iturriaga along with Gorritiberea wrote the script.

 


2007, directed by Alberto J. Gorritiberea, 1 hour 30 minutes, color, in Euskara with English subtitles.

 

Although Dr. Pedro Oiarzabal was unable to introduce the film in person as he has done since the inception of the Basque Film Series in 2005, he was able to provide the audience with a pre-recorded introduction from Donostia, Gipuzkoa.

The First Time

Begoņa is an old woman and a virgin. Convinced that death is close at hand, she decides to hire a male prostitute, Daniel, to satisfy her curiosity about sex, which everyone says is marvelous. However, this will not be an easy task for Daniel.

The Community

Julia finds 300 million pesetas hidden in a dead man's house while selling an apartment. She's a 40-ish real estate agent (played by Carmen Maura) now forced to face the wrath of a very peculiar community (of neighbors), headed by an unscrupulous administrator. Black humor gives way to suspense, closely followed by horror that doesn't take long in coming to a head in undisguised pandemonium.

Akelarre

Witches' Sabbath

Navarre at the end of 17th century the film takes place in a feudal setting. Garazi the grand daughter of a woman who was burnt and accused of being a witch, has had a love affair with Iņigo the son and heir of Don Fermin the overlord of the village, has been initiated to the Witches' Sabbath by a faith-healer. She is now going out with another man, Unai, one of the young men who are opposed to Don Fermin's absolute power. Don Fermin, in order to stop the people's rightful protest, unleashes a cruel hunt against the so-called witches with the efficient help of an Inquisitor.
